Please Hear Our Humble Prayer

Why is it that, whenever we are in trouble and strife, or pain and suffering, or in need of any kind, we try to do everything on our own instead of crying out in prayer to the Lord. He tells us in His Word to pray without ceasing, yet that is what most of us fail to do. We try to solve all our problems using our own strength instead of placing our burdens upon the Lord's shoulders as He has asked us to. Let us try to do what He has asked, and call out to Him in prayer without ceasing, every moment of every day.

PLEASE HEAR OUR HUMBLE PRAYER

Lord, let Your people feel secure
In the knowledge of Your love.
May we know You intercede for us
With our Father up above.

Let us know that we can run to You
When storms are raging all around,
And may we find in You a resting place,
Where true grace and love abound.

May we walk beside still waters
As You restore each and every soul,
And may our hearts be filled with peace
As You touch us and make us whole.

May Your Spirit be our constant guide,
As You promised us He would,
And may every word we speak, my Lord,
Always encourage, as it should.

May we know that You are with us
In times of trouble and dark despair,
And when we feel we can't go on,
That our pain and sorrow You will bear.

Oh, Lord, please hear our humble prayer,
We now offer up to Thee,
And may people see in us each day
Less of self and more of Thee.
