A LITTLE ABOUT
MYSELF
My name is Christine,
I am 60 years of age, I have a wonderful husband, Trevor (my second husband), and between us we have
3 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sadly, we lost our only son, Stephen, to
can cancer on 4th April, 2007. His death was very sudden, and we are still
struggling to come to grips with it. He is sorely missed by all his family
and friends.
We have recently adopted a new purr baby
into our family. He is adorable, and his name is Sooty. There is a
photo of him next to one of us below. He is 7 months old now, and he has settled in as though he
has been with us since he was born.

We live in Tasmania, which we regard as God's own
country. It is situated just below the eastern side of mainland Australia. Our state is
famous for having the cleanest air, some of the best cheeses in the world, the best wool fleeces
in the world,
the best trout fishing in the world, the best salmon in the world, some of the best wines in the
world, and all of this is because of the fact that we are virtually pollution free as our power is hydro
power.
Tasmania is also famous for
its crafts people. They are becoming famous for the quality of their
designs and products, and people even have furniture, pottery, woodcrafts, etc.
shipped all over the world after visiting our local stores. So if you see
any Tasmanian products in your stores, give them a try. You will not be
disappointed.
If you want to find out more about
Tasmania, I have placed a link to a site about our state at the bottom of the
page. There you will be able to find out a lot more information about
this beautiful island state of ours.

I have been a born-again Christian
for about 30 years and my one desire for the whole of that time has been to do
the Lord's will and to spend my life working for His glory. For many of those years I was in
the music ministry as a singer, and my favourite time even now is when I am singing praise and
worship to the
Lord. I love encouraging God's people in their walk with Him, and even though I stumble in
my own walk, as we all do, I know He is always there to pick me up and set me back on the right
path.
In 1992 the Lord suddenly blessed me with the gift of
writing poetry, which appeared to be aimed at fellow Christians as well as
myself. Within the space of about 6 months I received about 60 poems, and then just as
suddenly they stopped coming. At the time I had no idea how I was going to get them out
to the people for whom
they were so obviously intended. Therefore, for several years they just
sat there on my computer waiting for the Lord's guidance.
Because of the fact that I had developed several types of
repetitive strain injuries, in about 1994 I had to leave work and take a
redundancy package. Then, suddenly, I came down with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity
Disorder, which virtually means I am allergic to the twentieth
century. I am allergic to food additives, dust, dogs (the purchase of a puppy was
the trigger that set off the problem), perfumes (which is very hard to bear because I love flowers),
after-shaves, chemical fumes, cleaning products, etc. I had polio as a
baby for two years, and now I suffer from Post Polio Syndrome, as well as
osteoarthritis in my knees, hips and one foot. Then, out of the blue, my husband
had a heart attack and eventually had to have a stent placed in one of his
arteries near his heart. He
has also had three (yes 3) hip replacement operations, and not long after we were married
24 years ago he had a mild stroke, and a few years ago he had another very mild
one. Because of all
of this, he too had to take a
redundancy. He has now developed osteoarthritis in many places, which
makes things very hard for him.
I have since been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and
also with Clinical Depression, brought about because my body has used up all its
supply of serotonin because of all the trials and tribulations I have had during
my lifetime (many of which I cannot mention because too many people would be
hurt if I did), which have been more than most people have to cope with, and the
body has a limited supply of it. So,
because of all the problems with our health,
I am on a disability support pension, and my husband now qualifies for the aged
pension. I also had a total knee replacement in my
left leg in 2006, and I want to reassure anyone who has to have this type of operation,
go ahead and do it, but make sure you have a very good surgeon, as I did.
Once we had retired we decided to go on to
the web, and suddenly the reason for the poems became apparent.
Hence the birth of this web site. Once I started sharing my poetry
with God's people, the Lord started to give me more poetry to write and share, and
this has continued ever since. He really is a wonderful God, and, of course, His timing is
perfect.
I now add a new poem to my site almost every Sunday (God willing), as well as
adding more interesting links, etc.

My
other passion is embroidery. I love cross stitch, band samplers, Hardanger
and all forms of counted thread embroidery, as well as raised embroidery and
stumpwork. I have included a page on my site which will eventually have
lots of embroidery links on it for people to visit. Please check them out and
see what they have to offer.

Thank you once again for visiting my site, and may the Lord
bless you with an abundance of His mercy and grace until He comes to take
us home. The constant
cry of my heart is "Come, Lord Jesus! Come!
PRAISE THE LORD!

Click below to find out
more about our beautiful state. You will also find out some information
about the real "Tassie Devil" - yes, there is such an animal, and at the moment
it is in grave danger of extinction because of a deadly flesh eating cancer that
is passing from devil to devil, and if a cure is not found for it soon it too
will go the way of the Tasmanian Tiger.

This is the ministry the Lord has called me to,
but things are getting tight financially.
Your kind donation will help to keep this site running.
